Plans and your account

What's the difference between Inkperch and Inkperch Pro?

Both plans run your business: the calendar, clients, income, expenses and travel, and they work with however you already book. Inkperch Pro adds the tools your clients use: your booking page, card deposits and payments, pay over time, flash, online consults, online release forms, reminder texts and an assistant account.

Can I turn off what I don't use?

Yes. In Settings, open What Inkperch handles and turn Booking and deposits, Money or Travel on or off. One of Booking or Money always stays on. Those screens and reminders go away, and Inkperch keeps everything you logged. It works the same on both plans.

Do I need a card to start?

No. You get 30 days with everything, Pro included. We charge nothing until you pick a plan, and we remind you before the 30 days are up.

What happens when the 30 days end?

Pick a plan to keep adding things. Until you do, everything you logged stays yours to open and export.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. Move up to Pro from the app any time. To move down, change your plan in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions. On Inkperch, your booking page shows as closed and your assistant's access pauses until you're back on Pro. Links you already sent keep working, and your Pro settings come back when you return.

Can I get a refund on my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, so refunds go through them under their rules. You can cancel any time in your store account.

Does it work on iPad and Android? Is there a web app?

Inkperch runs on iPhone, iPad and Android phones, and iPad gets its own side-by-side layout. There's no web app for you. The web is for your clients: your booking page, the link to pick a date, pay links and release forms.

Can I use it on more than one device?

Yes. Sign in with the same account and your clients, sessions, trips, money and photos stay in step on each one.

Does it work with no signal?

Yes. Income, expenses, drives, clients and sessions save on your phone first and catch up when you're back online. Anything that reaches a client, like a message or a pay link, needs signal.

What happens to my data if I stop paying?

Inkperch deletes nothing and keeps it as long as your account exists. You can open and export everything, and add new things again when you pick a plan.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings, then Delete account. It erases everything for good: income, expenses, trips, clients, photos, receipts and release forms. You can download your release forms first. Deleting doesn't cancel your subscription, so cancel it in the App Store or Google Play before you do. No longer have the app? Email questions@inkperch.com from your account email.

Who can see my data?

Only you, plus an assistant if you add one and choose what they can see. Clients see only your booking page and what you send them. Inkperch never sells your data and shows no ads.

Where does Inkperch work?

The US and Canada. Money shows in US or Canadian dollars. Drives are in miles at the US IRS rate, or in kilometres. Canadian dollars start you on kilometres, and you can change it in Settings.

Can I bring my clients over from another app or my contacts?

Not yet. Add clients by hand or by voice, or let them come in through your booking page. Booking emails from Square, Porter and other tools can be forwarded to your Inbox, and a snapped paper release form fills in the client's name and contact.

Booking and the calendar

Can I keep booking through DMs, texts and email?

Yes. Open the client, tap Book, and the date goes straight on your calendar. On Inkperch, anything you send the client, like a deposit ask, goes out from your own texts or email. On Pro, Inkperch can email it for you.

How do forwarded emails work?

You get your own Inkperch email address, shown in the app. Forward booking requests, calendar invites and payment notices to it, or set your email to forward them for you. The app shows the steps for Gmail, iCloud and Outlook. Each one lands in your Inbox, and nothing is saved until you check it. Instagram DMs can't be forwarded, so open the client and tap Book.

What's on my booking page?

On Pro, you get a page at book.inkperch.com/@yourname with your photo, a short intro, your shop, links to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and your website, up to six portfolio photos, your flash, open consult times and trips clients can ask to book. You can close your books with your own note.

Can I choose what my request form asks?

Yes. It always asks for a name and the tattoo. Everything else, like placement, a photo of where it goes, size, reference photos, budget and availability, can be off, optional or required. You can add up to five questions of your own, and your policies with a box the client ticks.

How does offering dates work?

Pick a few dates and the deposit, or $0 for none, then send them. The dates show on your calendar as Offered and stay open for 7 days. On Pro, Inkperch emails the client a link to pick a date, and with card deposits on, they pay as they pick. On Inkperch, you send the dates from your own texts or email.

What if the client never picks a date?

After 7 days the dates come off your calendar and the tattoo shows Offer again. Once they pick, the other dates come off. If they pick without paying, your Deposit not paid yet? setting decides what happens next.

Can clients pick their own time?

Yes. When you offer, choose Let them pick instead of Offer dates and set the length and the deposit. The client gets a link, and once the deposit is in they pick an open time inside the days and hours you work. On Pro they can pay by card on the link. A deposit by a pay app opens the times when you tap Deposit received. On Pro, Inkperch emails the link. On Inkperch, you send it from your own texts or email.

Can I block off time?

Yes. In Settings, open Calendar, then Time off. Block a few days, a whole day or part of one, with a note only you see. It shows on your calendar, and clients can't book or pick a time inside it, even on a trip day. Dates you offer yourself can still fall inside it.

Do I have to take a deposit?

No. Setup asks whether you take a deposit to book, your usual amount and how clients pay it, and you can change the amount or skip it on any booking. In Settings, Deposit not paid yet? decides what happens when one doesn't come in: keep the date, cancel it after 3, 5 or 7 days, or don't book until it's paid.

How do consults work?

On Pro, clients can book an open consult time on your booking page, or you can offer a few times the way you offer dates. You set the days, hours and length. Phone or video is up to you and the client.

How does flash work?

On Pro, add a design with its photo, sizes, prices and its own deposit, and choose whether it shows on your booking page. Mark it one of a kind or repeatable. A client claims it and pays the deposit by card. If clients book a time, they can also send the deposit by a pay app, and picking a time opens once you tap Deposit received. A one-of-a-kind design shows as claimed.

Can clients cancel or move their own appointment?

Clients can move or cancel a consult from their link up to the day before. On Pro, turn on Clients move their time in your Booking page settings, and clients can move a tattoo session once, into your open times, up to 2 or 7 days before. You get a notice with the new time. Clients can't cancel a tattoo session themselves; they message you. Deposits are never refunded on their own. You decide, and you can put your policies on your request form.

Can Inkperch work with my other calendars?

Yes, both ways. In Settings, open Calendar, then Your other calendars, and connect the calendars on your phone. Your sessions show on your phone's calendar, and when you're busy there, clients can't book that time. Only the times leave your phone, never what the event is, and they're as fresh as the last time you opened Inkperch. You can also add your calendar feed to Apple or Google Calendar. Your sessions, consults and trips show there with the client's first name only, never their phone, email or money.

What is walk-up mode?

One screen for a flash day or walk-ins: a waiting list, who you're tattooing now, and checkout with tips. End of day shows your totals by how people paid. Start it from Home. To hand the device to clients, turn on Lock walk-up mode in Settings, and leaving takes an unlock.

Can a tattoo take more than one session?

Yes. Each tattoo keeps all its sessions, and each session is booked with its own deposit. When you wrap up a session that isn't finished, you can book the next one right there.

What does Inkperch send my clients?

On Pro, Inkperch emails clients for you with your name on it: dates to pick, deposit asks, receipts and confirmations. Their replies land in your Inbox. On Inkperch, nothing is sent for you. You send from your own apps.

Getting paid

Does Inkperch take a cut of payments?

No. Card payments go to your own Stripe account and Inkperch takes nothing. Stripe charges its usual card fee.

What does Stripe charge?

Stripe sets its own fee and takes it from each card payment. Inkperch logs that fee as an expense for you. See Stripe's pricing page for the current rate.

How do I set up card payments?

On Pro, go to Settings, then Deposits and payment, and tap Set up next to Card deposits. Stripe asks for your details on its own page. Most checks finish in minutes, some take a day. Step by step.

How do clients pay a deposit?

With card payments on, the client picks a date and pays the deposit by card on a Stripe page. Paying confirms the date and logs the deposit for you.

How do balance payments and pay over time work?

From the client's page, send a pay link for the amount. The client opens the link or scans the code and pays by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Turn on pay over time and they can also split it with Affirm, Klarna or Afterpay, while you're paid in full up front. Stripe charges more for these, and pay over time is for session payments, not deposits.

Can I refund a card payment?

Yes, all of it or part. Open the payment in Income and tap Refund by card. The client gets an email and sees the money in 5 to 10 business days. Stripe keeps its fee.

When does card money reach my bank?

Stripe pays out on its own schedule. Tap the Stripe row in Settings to open your Stripe dashboard and see your payouts.

I take Venmo, Cash App, Zelle or cash. Does that work?

Yes, on both plans. Log it in Income and pick how you were paid. You can also forward the payment email to your Inkperch address: it waits in your Inbox, you check it and save.

How are tips handled?

Add a tip to any payment you log. Tips stay on their own line, the shop split never touches them, and they count in what you keep.

Clients

What's on a client's page?

How to reach them, what needs you next, your notes, each tattoo with its sessions, photos and messages, their release forms and reference photos, and what they've paid you over time.

How do release forms work?

On Pro, send your release form as a link or show a code, and the client signs on their own phone. You look it over, and Inkperch saves a signed copy to their page. On both plans, you can snap a paper form and their name and contact fill in.

How do reminder texts work?

On Pro, clients who tick the box on your booking page or pay page get a text the day before their session, and a week before for sessions set up further ahead. Texts go to US and Canadian numbers, only between noon and 8pm your time, and clients can reply STOP any time. If you add prep and aftercare sheets, they can go by text too: prep with the day-before reminder and aftercare an hour after Wrap up.

How do I send prep, aftercare and check-in messages?

Write your messages once in Settings, under Your messages, with fill-ins of your own like your address or parking. Add your prep and aftercare sheets under Clients and aftercare: a link, a line of text, or a PDF or photo you upload, which clients open from a short link. Then send prep or aftercare from the session, or tap Message on the client's page for a check-in or a healed photo ask. Messages go out from your own texts, so clients see your number.

What can my assistant see and do?

On Pro, you can add one assistant. You choose what they handle: booking and payments, money, travel, your documents, release forms, refunds or your booking page. They never get your login, your plan or your Stripe payouts. Send them an invite code from the app.

Does Inkperch remind me about healed photos and touch-ups?

Yes. Clients shows who's due a healing check-in, who should be healed so you can ask for a photo, and whose free touch-up time is running out. You set the timing in Settings.

Can I add reference photos to a tattoo?

Yes. Add them from your camera or photos on the tattoo. Photos a client sends with a booking request are saved to the tattoo for you.

Money

Does anyone else see the money I log?

No one sees your income, expenses or profit unless you choose: not your shop, your clients or other artists. If you add an assistant, they see your money only if you turn Money on for them. Inkperch never sells your data or shares it with your shop, and we only look at your account if you ask us for help. Card payments go through your own Stripe account, so Stripe sees those.

Can I leave a payment out of my year-end export?

Yes. Open the payment and turn on Keep out of year-end export. It still counts everywhere in the app, including Profit, Insights and your tax set-aside. It's only left out of the PDF and CSV you export, and Profit marks it Not exported. Use it for money that isn't from your tattoo work, like a friend paying you back.

How do I log income?

In Money, tap Log income (Log a payment when Money is off), enter the amount and how you were paid, and save. You can also say it out loud with Say it. On Pro, card payments log themselves.

How does the shop split work?

Set your shop's cut once in Settings, under Rates and hours. Every payment you log shows what you keep. On a guest spot, set that shop's cut on the trip instead. You can change it on any one payment, and tips are never split.

What is Settle up?

It checks what the shop paid you against what you should have kept. Enter what they paid, add a photo of the slip if you like, and see any difference.

How do receipts work?

Snap a receipt or add a photo or PDF, and Inkperch reads the store, amount and date and picks a category. Check it and save. You can also forward email receipts to your Inkperch address.

How does mileage work?

Tap Log a drive and enter where you started and where you went. Inkperch works out the distance, or you type it. In miles, drives are valued at the IRS rate. In kilometres, Inkperch keeps a log of your kilometres for work with no dollar value. Drives between home and your home shop are kept but left out of your totals.

What is the tax set-aside?

Pick a percent in Settings. Inkperch shows that share of what you keep on each payment, for the month and for the year, so you know what to put away. It's your number, not tax advice.

Can I export my money for my accountant?

Yes. The Year-end summary exports a PDF with your receipt photos, a spreadsheet file (CSV) and a ZIP of receipts, with income, expenses by category, drives and each trip. Send it by email or any app. Settings also downloads all client photos and signed release forms.

What is Say it?

Log by talking, like "Two hundred cash from Maya Lee." Say it fills in a payment, expense, drive, booking, new client or trip, and nothing saves until you check it and tap Save.

What does Profit show?

What you kept, after the shop's cut and with tips, minus expenses, for a month or a trip. The month also shows your tax set-aside and miles. Your year is in Insights.

Travel

Do I have to use trips?

No. A trip is for a guest spot or a convention, and it keeps that time's sessions, expenses and drives together. If you work from home, you never need one, and you can turn Travel off in Settings.

How do guest spot splits work?

Enter what the shop takes on the trip. Income you log on that trip takes that cut instead of your home split. Settle up checks it against what the shop paid you.

What's in the convention list?

Upcoming US tattoo conventions with dates, city, venue and the show's website, and a guide to booth costs where they're listed. Plan a trip straight from a show.

How do flights and hotels get on my itinerary?

Forward the email to your Inkperch address. Check it in your Inbox and it lands on the trip, day by day. PDFs go to the trip's documents.

Can I keep trip documents and notes?

Yes. Each trip keeps its documents, like boarding passes and contracts, and your notes. Your own documents, like your ID, license and bloodborne pathogens certificate, open with no signal.

How do I see what a trip made?

In Money, open Profit and pick the trip. Add what you expect to spend and the trip shows Paid for itself once your income covers it. Shows you've been to before say what you made there.
